How do I get a quote, and does it cost anything?

Send us the details and photos through the quote form. We'll confirm we cover your postcode, arrange a site visit to measure up, and follow with an itemised written quote by email. There's no charge and no obligation.

Which areas do you cover?

We work England wide. Tell us your postcode and we'll confirm crew availability for your area — if we can't do the job justice, we'll say so — we'll tell you honestly whether we can take the job on.

How long does a typical job take?

It depends entirely on size, access and how much groundwork is involved. A straightforward fence run is usually a couple of days; a full transformation involving clearance, groundwork, paving and turf runs over weeks. We give you a programme with the quote rather than a guess.

Question 4

Why do quotes for the same patio vary so much?

Accepted Answer

Almost always because of what's underneath. A thin sub-base and spot-bedded slabs cost less on day one and fail within a few winters. Ask any quote you receive what depth of sub-base is included and how the falls and drainage are handled.

Question 5

Do you remove the waste?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Excavated spoil, old fencing, slabs and green waste are removed and disposed of through licensed waste carriers, and it's itemised on the quote so you can see the cost.

What happens if it rains?

Accepted Answer

Most groundwork and fencing continues in normal British weather. Heavy or prolonged rain can stop laying operations and turfing, because working saturated ground damages the finish. If we lose days we'll tell you and reschedule rather than rush it.

Question 7

Do I need planning permission?

Accepted Answer

Usually not for fencing under two metres, or for driveways where the surface is permeable or drains to a soakaway. Front boundaries next to a highway, listed properties and conservation areas have extra rules — we'll flag anything that looks like it needs checking with the council.

Can you work in a garden with no rear access?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but it changes the method and the time, because materials and waste come through the property or over a boundary. We protect floors and access routes, and we allow for it when we price the job.

Question 9

When can I use a new lawn or patio?

Accepted Answer

Keep off new turf for the first few weeks while it roots, and only light use until after the first cut. Paving takes foot traffic quickly but driveways need longer before vehicles go on. We confirm timings on the day we finish.

Question 10

Do you take on small jobs, or only full gardens?

Accepted Answer

Both. A single fence panel run, a path, or a lawn on its own are all fine. We'll be straight with you if a job is too small to schedule sensibly rather than quoting a price designed to put you off.

Can the work be phased?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We quote by stage, so you can do clearance and groundwork now and the paving or turf later, without anything having to be redone.

Do you work with developers, landlords and letting agents?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Combined-scope plot finishing, re-let refreshes and communal grounds work are all covered under outdoor transformations, with an agreed programme and a named contact.
